Profound Acceptance
After years of experiencing the healing power of Jesus’ absolute acceptance of each of us, regardless of how we came to him, we have discovered that healing begins when people are loved unconditionally regardless of their beliefs or their many mistakes. This is what Jesus did. This is what we do as well: give each other lots of grace.
Love for the Needy
Those in need come in many descriptions, shapes and sizes. Some are single parents, some are elderly, some are immigrants, others are simply “under employed” and can’t seem to make enough to pay all their bills while working for a minimum wage income. These are the people in whom we strongly feel called to invest our lives.
Diverse Community
Christ calls us to be ambassadors of reconciliation and we firmly believe that part of what that means is that we intentionally work at cross-cultural relationships. It is our hope that we will reflect the diversity of this community in the look and sound of our fellowship.
Simplicity
We seek to make things as simple as possible. At Dinuba Pres it doesn’t take an act of Congress to get an idea acted upon or a change instituted. We absolutely love new ideas!
Upward
The worship of God is of utmost importance in our hearts and minds. We seek to make this vital part of one’s connection with God exciting, fresh, creative and vital. We worship in the everyday language of 21st century America, which includes lively music.
Outward
We define ourselves as Christ-followers not so much by what we say or what we believe, but by what we demonstrate through active deeds of love. Therefore, we call ourselves an “Outward-Focused Church.”
Fun!
After years of doing the works of Jesus, we’ve discovered that people invest themselves in, long-term, what is FUN! One of our favorite sayings is, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is fun!” And, while we don’t equate fun with joy, we do think that they’re “first cousins.” As one wise man said, “Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God.”
Generous
Jesus spoke of the importance of money frequently. About 80% of his parables centered around the need for all of us to have a proper perspective about this area of life. God’s nature is to GIVE and we function best when we give. As a church and individuals, we freely give, not out of obligation or guilt or law, but out of excitement, joy and enthusiasm in order to extend the love of God to others.
Safe
Each time you come to a DPC event, we guarantee you that you will have a safe experience—at every level. You can feel absolutely good about bringing your friends week after week. We don’t put on religious masks, pretending to be people that we’re not. We’re all just fellow travellers (“schmucks”) on the way.
True
We are 100% committed to the concept that the Bible is an inspired message in its original form, and is given by God to impart wisdom to all mankind on how to live effective lives. We are absolutely centered on the centrality of the truth of the ancient scriptures. We have been changed by them and we are excited about seeing others changed by them as well!
